A hard, unforgiving floor gives the legs nothing to work against, so the same muscles hold the same position for hours. A resilient rubber mat lets the body make constant small adjustments instead, which is the whole principle behind anti-fatigue matting.
The mats we supply for standing work areas are Linkmats and Rampmats. Both are heavy rubber with open drainage, and both are already widely used behind bars, in restaurant kitchens and on production floors for exactly this reason.

Rampmat12mm thick · 2m x 2m or 1m x 1.5mIndividual mats for workstations and machine positions rather than continuous runs. Bevelled edge on all sides.

What is an anti-fatigue mat?
It is a resilient mat placed where people stand for long periods. Instead of the hard floor holding the body in one fixed position, the mat gives slightly underfoot so the leg muscles keep making small adjustments through the shift.
Which mat should I use behind a bar or in a kitchen?
Linkmats. They are 16mm, they link together to run the full length of the working area, and the open drainage means spills go through the mat rather than sitting under foot. This is the single most common use we supply them for.
Can I cover an odd shaped area?
Yes. Because Linkmats connect to one another, the finished shape follows your floor rather than a fixed mat size. Send us the dimensions and we will work out the layout.
Are anti-fatigue mats safe on wet floors?
The grades we supply have open drainage so liquid passes through instead of pooling on the surface, and the Rampmat has a bevelled edge on all sides so there is no lip to trip on.
Can single mats be replaced if they wear?
Yes. With an interlocking layout you lift out the mat that has taken the wear and drop a new one in, rather than replacing the whole floor.
